Ecuador Wildlife Adventure

Trip Highlights

  • Amazon Rainforest and Napo Wildlife Center: The NWC Amazon Lodge is an ecotourism project that protects and preserves over 82 square miles of pristine Amazon Rainforest within the Yasuni National Park, declared by UNESCO a Biosphere Reserve.  The Yasuní National Park, considered the largest region of tropical forest in Ecuador, is one of the most diverse areas in the World, so its conservation is vital not only for Ecuador but for the planet.
  • Mashpi Rainforest Biodiversity Reserve: The wonders waiting at Mashpi Lodge and the surrounding reserve will delight the worldliest nature lover. Perched at 900 m (3,116 feet) above sea level and surrounded by lower montane rainforest and cloudforest, the Lodge is surrounded by a profusion of plant species, from ferns and bromeliads to hundreds of orchid species, many newly-discovered. A staggering 500 species of bird – including some 36 endemics – are estimated to inhabit the forest, fluttering through the canopy. Monkeys, peccaries and even puma make their homes inside the Reserve crisscrossed with waterfalls between dramatic, verdant hills.
