DAY 1: Arrival/ La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano ~ Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) or Liberia International Airport (LIR), you will be met by for your private transfer to the town of La Fortuna near stunning Arenal Volcano. Up until recently, Arenal Volcano was labeled one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Arenal now seems to be dormant, but the views in the area remain spectacular. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the amenities on offer at the hotel and to explore the surrounding area including La Fortuna Waterfall.

DAY 2: La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano ~ Your first full day in Costa Rica begins with a wet and wild canyoning and rappelling adventure. Canyoning in Costa Rica is a brand-new sport that’s becoming very popular the world over! The rugged, mountainous terrain near Arenal Volcano is ideal for canyoning. You’ll go rappelling, down-climbing, river tracing and descend huge, breath taking waterfalls hidden near Arenal Volcano. Relax this evening with a hot springs soak and farm-style dinner at EcoTermales.

DAY 3: La Fortuna/ Monteverde Cloud Forest ~ Morning taxi-boat-taxi group transfer to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Located in the Tilarán Mountains, Monteverde is one of Costa Rica’s premier eco-travel destinations. The cloud forest is famous for its lush epiphytes and tree ferns and the elusive resplendent quetzal. This evening, discover nocturnal sights and sounds during your guided night walk. Monteverde is one of our favorite places to embark on a guided adventure at night.

DAY 4: Monteverde Cloud Forest ~ Start your day with an adrenaline-pumping canopy adventure (ziplining and aerial tram). The rest of the day is yours to explore on your own. We suggest a visit to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve during your stay. Be sure to stop by the Hummingbird Gallery near the reserve’s entrance for close-up views of several hummingbird species, including the violet sabrewing (Costa Rica’s largest hummingbird).

DAY 5: Monteverde/ Pacific Coast ~ Morning private transfer to Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast (Jaco/ Manuel Antonio area) or North Pacific Coast (Tamarindo area).

Day 6: Pacific Coast ~ Day at leisure.

Pricing from $1250 per person based on double occupancy.

Package includes accommodations, meals as noted, transfers between airport and hotels, group shuttle transfers for tours, tours and entrance fees, local bilingual English-Spanish speaking guides/ interpreters on shared basis during tours, and sales taxes. A donation to local conservation efforts will be made on behalf of each participant.
