DAY 1: Arrival/ Monteverde Cloud Forest ~ Upon arrival to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), you’ll be met for your private transfer to Monteverde where you’ll spend the next two nights. Located in the Tilarán Mountains, Monteverde is one of Costa Rica’s premier family-friendly destinations. Monteverde’s montane cloud forest is famous for its lush epiphytes and tree ferns and its elusive resplendent quetzal.

DAY 2: Monteverde Cloud Forest ~ Your first full day in Costa Rica includes an adrenaline-pumping canopy adventure (zip lining and suspension bridges). Discover nocturnal sights and sounds of the cloud forest this evening during a guided night hike.

DAY 4: Monteverde Cloud Forest/ La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano ~ Today, you’ll be picked up for your taxi-boat-taxi transfer to the town of La Fortuna near Arenal Volcano. Up until recently, Arenal Volcano was labeled one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Arenal now seems to be dormant, but the views in the area remain spectacular. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the amenities on offer at the hotel and/or optional activities available in the area. Overnight at Casa Luna Hotel & Spa.
Optional activities in the area include horseback riding, hiking, guided nature walks, kayaking, stand up paddling, safari float, ziplining, canyoning and waterfall rappelling, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, visiting town, coffee/chocolate tour and spelunking in Venado Cave.

AY 5: La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano ~ Start your day with a guided nature walk at Arenal Volcano National Park. One of the most visited parks in all of Central America, Arenal’s popularity is warranted. The trails in the national park aren’t strenuous so they’re great for a leisurely and informative guided hike. While at the park, it’s possible to see a wide variety of Costa Rica’s flora and fauna while learning about Arenal Volcano’s eruptive past. Your day ends with a traditional Tico dinner and hot springs at EcoTermales.

DAY 6: La Fortuna/ Manuel Antonio ~ This morning, you’ll be met for your transfer to the beach town of Manuel Antonio on Costa Rica’s central Pacific Coast. You have the rest of the day to explore the area.

DAY 7: Manuel Antonio National Park ~ Today, you’ll visit Manuel Antonio National Park for a guided nature walk. Manuel Antonio National Park was voted by Forbes as one of the World’s Most Beautiful National Parks. The park’s beaches are idyllic, its jungles are inhabited by howler and white-faced monkeys and sloths, an array of tropical birds, and vibrantly-colored frogs.

DAY 8: Departure ~ Transfer back to the SJO Airport in time for your flight home.

Pricing from $1130 per person based on a family of four sharing accommodations.
Package includes accommodations and meals as listed, ground transfers between airports and hotels, local bilingual English-Spanish speaking guides/interpreters on shared basis during guided excursions, transfers and entrance fees for guided excursions, and sales taxes. A donation to support local conservation efforts will be made on behalf of each participant.
