Belize Wildlife Adventure

Nestled between Mexico and Guatemala on the Caribbean coast of Central America, Belize is one of the few remaining unspoiled places on earth. The longest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere, hundreds of ancient Maya sites, lush tropical rainforest, diverse cultures, and delicious food all add to Belize’s charm.

Sample Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival/ Chan Chich ~ Afternoon arrival to Belize City International Airport (BZE). Upon arrival, transfer to your charter flight (30-40 min flight) to Chan Chich Lodge, one of Belize’s premier jungle lodges. Chan Chich is located on a 130,000 acre private nature reserve in northwestern Belize at the heart of “La Selva Maya”. The adjacent reserve is home to abundant wildlife and provides one of the best chances to see the elusive jaguar in its natural habitat. Overnight at Chan Chich Lodge.

DAYS 2-4: Chan Chich ~ You have these three days to choose from the wide variety of optional activities on offer at the lodge. Optional activities include nature or archaeological walks, birding, night walks, canoeing, fly fishing, horseback riding and night drives. Overnights at Chan Chich Lodge. (B)

DAY 5: Maya Center Village ~ Enjoy your final morning at Chan Chich before your return charter flight back to the Belize City International Airport where you’ll pick up your rental car for the remainder of the trip. Transfer by road to Maya Center Village, a small Mopan Maya Village where you’ll spend the next two nights (transfer from Belize City takes approx. 2.5-3 hrs). Here you can experience the traditional Mayan lifestyle and culture. Overnight at Tutzil Nah Cottages. (B)

DAY 6: Maya Center and Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary and Jaguar Preserve ~ Your package includes a guided night hike and a half-day guided trip at Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary and Jaguar Preserve. This unique sanctuary in southern Belize spans approximately 150 square miles of tropical forest and it is the world’s only jaguar preserve. Overnight at Tutzil Nah Cottages.


DAY 7: Crooked Tree ~ Drive to Crooked Tree Lodge located right on the edge of Crooked Tree Lagoon and in the heart of Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary contains a mosaic of wetland and terrestrial habitats, making it one of the best birding destinations in Belize. Overnight at Crooked Tree Lodge. (D)

DAY 8: Crooked Tree ~ You have the day to explore on your own. Overnight at Crooked Tree Lodge. (B,D)

DAY 9: Departure Check out of the lodge and drive back to Belize City arriving in time to return the rental vehicle and connect to your flight home (drive time 3.5-4 hrs). (B)

Pricing from $1995 per person based on double occupancy.

Package includes accommodations, round-trip charter flight from Belize City International Airport to Chan Chich Lodge, meals and guided tours as listed in the itinerary.  A donation to support local conservation efforts will be made on behalf of each participant.
