Get ready for an early start – by 8:00 a.m. – to begin paddling from Rincon to Saladero Ecolodge, which is about 5 hours away. Our arrival time at Saladero depends on the group’s physical ability, weather conditions and the tidal influence on the gulf.

The route offers many possibilities for encounters with Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, Bottle-nosed Dolphins, Olive Ridley Turtles, Sea Snakes, and Humpback Whales (during migration season). While paddling close to shore, you may also see Howler and White-faced Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws and Toucans. Mogos Islands will be one of the stops along the way. These beautiful little islands covered with bits of vegetation are a perfect place for a fruit snack. Arrive to Saladero Ecolodge after midday.

Or, the group can choose to paddle along the shore close to Saladero to some rocky reefs that are quite interesting for snorkeling. The sunsets over the tropical fjord of Golfo Dulce are spectacular, and in the evening, bioluminescence is a frequent phenomenon.
