Visitors to Baja’s wild coasts have the chance to spot a greater variety of whales in a week’s time than anywhere else. In addition to humpback whales, friendly gray whales, blue whales, and sperm whales, the area is also home to whale sharks (the world’s largest fish), boisterous dolphins and playful sea lions.

DAY 1: Arrival/ Todos Santos ~ Upon arrival to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), you’ll be met for your private transfer to Todos Santos, a coastal oasis village town located at the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. Initially founded as a mission in 1724 and now considered one of Mexico’s Pueblo Magico (“Magic Town”), Todos Santos is also home to the iconic Hotel California. This evening, learn about your upcoming adventure during your welcome dinner.

DAY 2: Todos Santos ~ Today begins with a morning whale watching or fishing excursionyour choice. Learn about local cuisine this afternoon during your cooking class featuring recipes focused on the catch of the day.

DAY 3: Todos Santos/ La Paz/ Isla Espiritu Santo ~ Morning departure to La Paz. Boat transfer to Espiritu Santo Island. Espiritu Santo National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Sea of Cortez is one of the best marine life viewing destinations in the world. The island itself is stunning with magnificent towering cliffs, spectacular sandy bays, amazing lava rock formations, and rock art left by the now-extinct Guaycura and Pericu Indians. There’s even an endemic ring-tailed cat, the babisuri that lives on the island. Camp Cecil, your home for the next two nights, is a haven for travelers wishing to unplug from everyday life and plug into the beauty of Baja.

DAY 4: Isla Espiritu Santo After a final morning at Camp Cecil, transfer by boat back to La Paz situated on the Sea of Cortez and the capital of Baja Sur. Afternoon visit to the Whale Museum. The evening is yours to explore La Paz on your own.

DAY 5: Isla Espiritu Santo/ La Paz After a final morning at Camp Cecil, transfer by boat back to La Paz situated on the Sea of Cortez and the capital of Baja Sur. Afternoon visit to the Whale Museum. The evening is yours to explore La Paz on your own.

DAY 6: La Paz/ Magdalena Bay Morning departure for Puerto Lopez Mateos, gateway to Magdalena Bay and one of Baja Sur’s best whale watching spots. Friendly encounters, when mothers and calves approach the boat, are regular occurrences in Magdalena Bay. These encounters aren’t guaranteed, but four whale watching excursions increases the likelihood of such an experience. Afternoon whale watching excursion with private guide. Your naturalist guide will share their knowledge of these magnificent creatures and story of their incredible yearly migration.

DAY 7: Magdalena Bay ~ No two whale watching excursions are the same so you have two more outings today with your private guide.

Pricing from $3475* per person based on double occupancy.

Pricing includes accommodations, all ground transfers including airport transfers between SJD Airport and Todos Santos, all meals from dinner on Day 1 through breakfast on Day 9, all adventures and related equipment as noted in itinerary including private boats in Magdalena Bay, and bilingual Spanish-English speaking naturalist guides.
