During the 2016 Adventure Travel World Summit in Alaska, the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) announced the launch of the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF). Travel has an impact on our natural resources, local communities, and wildlife. While many tour operators, hotels and other travel companies conduct conservation and give-back projects of their own, ATCF is the first to provide funding to international grassroots projects that help secure the future of adventure travel destinations.
Since our beginning, Reefs to Rockies (R2R) has donated 1% of gross revenue to local conservation efforts at our destinations. R2R joined the community of ATCF businesses at its inception. We recently voted on projects nominated for funding and the results are in. For the 2017 ATCF Grant Cycle, $76,500 was distributed to three different projects. Congratulations to Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust, Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program and WILDCOAST!
