The scenic beauty of the “Quebrada de las Conchas” captures our attention as we drive to the village of Cafayate. Along the way, we take time to hike along the “Río Colorado” gorge to a 10 m waterfall. After hiking, we are welcomed by the Terraza Family, who demonstrate how to prepare regional dishes such as empanadas, tamales, or humitas. We feast on their creations accompanied by wines from the Calchaqui Valley.

DOA Highlights:

  • Hike through the otherworldly landscape of Salta, multicolored mountains and unique rock formations created over 65 million years ago to a waterfall.
  • Taste traditional cuisine and drink high-altitude wine for which the region is famous.
  • Meet a local family and learn about their lifestyle.
