  1. Fuego is the first brewery on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Nestled along the banks of the Barú River in the tiny town of Dominical, Fuego opened its doors in 2016 and quickly established itself as one of the best craft breweries in the country.
  2. Fuego’s most popular beer is bird-themed. The label artwork for the truly outstanding Kuka Mango Pale Ale features a macaw.

3. Fuego itself is surrounded by birds in the jungle. You may spot toucans, macaws, or even a king vulture while sitting on the brewery’s deck enjoying a cold one.

  1. Hacienda Baru with 435 species recorded. An incredible variety of habitats and trails make this wildlife refuge an ideal place to look for birds.

  3. Playa Uvita at Marino Ballena National Park with 360 species recorded. Head down to Uvita, home to a beautiful beach and a great birding spot.
