Our Story
Founded in 2006 by Sheridan Samano and Lynda Gregory, Reefs to Rockies grew from a formative study-abroad experience in Costa Rica and a deep curiosity about the relationship between tourism and conservation. What began as a passion for wildlife biology and education became a mission to create extraordinary nature travel that inspires travelers while protecting the places they explore.
Today, Sheridan remains the guiding hand behind Reefs to Rockies. She personally consults on custom journeys and serves as lead naturalist on small-group expeditions each year. Her decades of field experience and remarkable instinct for spotting wildlife shape every itinerary we design.
Who We Are
Reefs to Rockies is made up of wildlife biologists and naturalists who are as passionate about storytelling as they are about nature. When we are not designing trips or guiding in the field, we are birding at first light, hiking new trails, photographing wildlife, and leading community events that connect people to the natural world. This is not just our work. It is who we are.
For two decades, we have crafted expert-led small-group departures and thoughtfully designed custom journeys around the world. Every experience is developed in-house with deep local knowledge, seamless planning, and a commitment to responsible travel.
