In May 2017, Reefs to Rockies Co-Founder Lynda Gregory traveled to Borneo’s Central Kalimantan to scout a three-day river cruise that focused on viewing orangutans in the natural habitat. She traveled as part of a small group in a six-room river boat along Kalimantan’s meandering rivers. Along the way, they passed islands managed by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS) to see orangutans in their natural habitat on pre-release islands. They also visited small Dayak villages to learn about their local culture firsthand. Here are a few photos that highlight the experience.
