At the end of 2017, Brazil announced that it would soon allow travelers from certain countries including the US to apply for an e-visa. In the past, the application process required an in-person visit. The cost of the visa also dropped from $160 to $40 + an online processing fee.
According to Embratur, the Brazilian Tourist Board, the most optimistic forecasts weren’t able to anticipate how these changes would affect the market for US travelers. Data show that there’s been a 70% increase in Brazil visa applications by US Passport holders since adoption of the measure as compared to the same period in 2017.
Travel to Brazil just got easier.
